I think that the rumored remasters are an attempt to fill in holes. Definitely hope some of the Japanese 3rd party companies start bringing support sine the Wii U is the best selling console these days.

There are optimal sizes for dev teams. It is possible they are working on something that requires a larger staff, but if they are hiring a lot of people I think it would indicate that they are going to take on multiple projects simultaniously.

It isn't clear if this is for Wii U or 3DS though from the article. Just looked on their website and I see a Wii U and 3DS logo. If that is right, it will be Wii U for me.

Remakes are an excellent opportunity to train entry level programmers/artists/etc though. Other than some management it really doesn't have to take away the senior level people that would be working on new ideas.

Maybe Mario Sunshine? I like this idea, hope they do a lot of remasters. PS3 had a flood of them after the first few remasters, going back and playing games in SD is kind of annoying, so it is a good time to do this!
