Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (Wii U) I enjoy this one overall. I got a bit frustrated with it at times though. Having two castles with the same layout to travel through can be a bit of a pain for backtracking and exploring. For example, a hallways that has a solid wall is blocking your...

God Shattering Star - 2020 Games Completed Thread

Second playthrough of Resident Evil 4 this year. I've played this game so many times I decided to do a playthrough with no merchant. No buying weapons, no upgrading inventory space, no upgrading weapons. All I had was what I could find in the environment and the president daughter's...

Went way back to my roots this morning.......

For real, hard to think that's at minimum 8 years ago. I flicked through some pages in that thread, I still think about I_Stink and Circa Survivor from time to time. I couldn't help but laugh when Boom's name appeared. And I'll never not miss Kris Wright. I really wish there was some way I could...

Speaking of which, Splinter Cell is getting an anime on Netflix. It got a writer from John Wick, so I’m hoping it’s good regardless. I just find it funny how a super serious Tom Clancy property is being turned into an anime haha.

I’ve played Human Revolution and Mankind Divided before. Really enjoyed them. Invisible War is the only main line title I haven’t played yet. I will one day. I got a few other games I want to replay, like Bayonetta 2, Breath of the Wild and Pokemon Black. I also watched a Thief video last night...

Deus Ex (PC) Seeing as how immersive sims are one of my favorite genres you'd think I would have played this one earlier. Oh well, still a great game. The fact that it's still enjoyable despite me playing System/Bio Shock series, Prey, Thief trilogy, and the modern Deus Ex's, is a testament to...

I haven't played Rise since it came out on PS4, but I've already played Shadow 4 times. I think Shadow is my favorite of the trilogy because it offers more of what I like about the franchise. It still has a lot of side content, but the optional tombs are great. The main story also involves more...

Pokemon Platinum (DS) I really enjoyed this one, more than Gen 3 I think. Elite 4 was a difficulty spike so I grinded for hours and may have leveled up too much as they didn't stand a chance, but the Champion fight was still an ass clencher so maybe not.

Pokemon Omega Ruby (3DS) First time with Gen 3 and it was pretty enjoyable. Hoenn was a neat region, but the plot and Team Magma weren't anything special.

    Playstation 5

Most likely gonna get one in 2021 when a few games drop for it. Resident Evil 8 is probably the game that'll push me into getting one. By then Deathloop, Kena and Ghostwire will hopefully all be out by then.

Resident Evil 3***** (PS4) There are moments in life where you have to sit back and really think about your morals and beliefs. Sometimes, things come along that force you to self-reflect on these aspects of your life. Change can be a hard thing to accept, but pondering these questions and...

God of War (PS4) Before I started it I thought the premise alone was a bit wonky. Take Kratos, who at the end of the old saga, was a completely unlikable character. The games were mostly fun as a power fantasy, but some of the things he did were so over the top that made countless innocent...

I remember when I first played W101 I was talking with Matt about it, and he convinced me to replay the first mission numerous times to get it. Even then it still had moments that wasn't crystal clear. I didn't realize during the first big boss on top of the tower that you could heal the tower...

Thanks. When I picked it up a month or so ago I actually looked up tutorials on Youtube, turns out I was going at it the wrong way. It's pretty cool how learning the basics can help. And yeah, FF9 is easily one of my favorites.

I'll throw my hat into the ring with Bioshock. I love them, some of my favorite games from the 7th gen. Has a lot of my favorite aspects of games, combat, exploration, unique settings and stories, and character building. 1 and 2 are similar, not only in setting but in structure. Each area of...

Tomb Raider Anniversary* (PC) Whether it's the original TR or this remake, some of these levels are just timeless. The batch of levels in Peru and Greece are some of my favorites in this kind of adventure game. I have fond memories of booting up the OG back in the day, getting nowhere cause I...

Legend of Mana (PS3) I should really learn to give up on games I ain't feeling instead of forcing myself to slog through 15+ hours of a game. So this is my fourth Mana game and it's my least favorite. Going into it I knew it was weird and super non-linear, but I still wanted to go into it as...

Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair (PS4) Did you like Donkey Kong Country? Than play this. They never marketed it as a spiritual successor (I don't think) but let's not fool ourselves. You can jump out of a roll even in mid air and there are levels that take inspiration from DK like barrel...
