Shakedown: Hawaii launched in May of 2019, serving as a spiritual successor to the 2012 Vblank Entertainment top-down action game Retro City Rampage. The two titles share a lot of DNA, from their crime-themed parody-laden stories to their old-school pixelated open-worlds and their addictive, Grand Theft Auto inspired run-and-drive-and-gun-and-explode action. Now, though, the 2nd game from designer Brian Provinciano is proving to share another iconic element with his prior game.
