“No. 1 Trainer,” a so-called “Super Secret Battle” Pokémon card, sold for $90,000 at auction on July 9. The 1999 card is one of seven copies ever made, being gifts awarded to the winners of seven different regional tournaments, and this particular card’s value was even higher thanks to its being preserved in mint condition (“Gem Mint 10”).
