Cave, the developer behind countless shoot ’em ups like the DoDonPachi and Ketsui series, has announced that it has acquired the licensing rights to the Touhou Project IP. The company didn’t reveal a new title but did announce that it plans to release its first Touhou Project game in 2022. Cave was founded in 1994 and has since been known for developing bullet hell-style shoot ’em up games for arcades and consoles.
