Starring pro wrestler Captain Lou Albano, SMBSS was a mix between live-action segments and animated shorts. The live bits featured Mario’s and Luigi’s misadventures in their apartment seemingly under the Brooklyn Bridge, while the cartoons took place in the Mushroom Kingdom.
