License Global’s most recent issue had a feature on companies with the highest revenue totals from merchandise sales in 2018. At $2.98 billion in revenue, The Pokémon Company was the 23rd company on the list. This places Pokémon in the same wheelhouse as Caterpillar, Proctor & Gamble, Playboy Enterprises, Pentland Brands, and The Electrolux Group. For some more recognizable comparisons, the NBA made $3.2 billion in 2018 and the NFL made $3.5 billion.
