The ’90s were terrific for video games. Growing up with the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and PlayStation gave me plenty of unique games to play. Platformers were my genre of choice, and I adored Mario and Crash Bandicoot. I’ll never forget the summer of 1998 when my parents got me Spyro the Dragon as a late birthday gift. The purple fire-breather from Insomniac Games became an obsession. The following two years saw the release of Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
