There have definitely been some great heights thanks to the drama. But Cersei sours it for me. If she wasn't the center of attention so often it wouldn't be a big deal, and she'd be just another 'meh' character like Theon and Stannis

wow.. amazing episode... but no closure lol... I was expecting jon to meet with mance in tonights episode...

but still it was fun.... the giants were awesome, when they one shot the dude with the arrow and sent him flying I was like WAHHH!!! then couldn't help to think how demoralizing it would have been for the black brothers fighting bellow to see that land

it was good stuff through and through... and if job survives this he is pretty much guaranteed to be the next leader of the night's watch

Yeah this episode was amazing through and through.

I think Jon needs to not die anytime soon since at least he's enough of a good character to have something to do against The North at some point. If he gets killed, I can't think of any other character I'd like to see as a leader in the fight against the White Walkers.

Also I was just thinking of something (and book people, please stop saying things like "just wait until you see what's coming", or "I don't want to spoil it for you, BUT..."), and I think Stannis has been a shitty character because he's not supposed to be alive very long. I think he's going to die, or just become irrelevant as Davos (whose character is actually interesting and developing) becomes the actual guy to pay attention to.

Anyway, can't wait for the season finale.

that nod at the end was timed perfectly, lmao

but yeah, great episode. i didn't think Ygritte would die. Glad to see Sam not taking any more bullshit and Jon taking a commanding role. It was also great to see the small sacrifices like Pyp and Grenn.

Guys, I have to say this, the watchers managed to stop the savages and that's good, but what I want is: Giants making mess on King's Landing!!!!

This is my war side growing :D~~~~

Could not see last night's episode...... hopefully I can see it soon! But yeah, from what I hear there was no closure to the battle..... and I am sad cause of that. I hope you guys enjoyed it! ^_^ Looking at the previews from episode 10...... whoa. Big deviations incoming. Book readers in this thread, look closer at the small part with the hound. Who's armor is that?

that would be too high fantasy for me... I just want all the squabbling in king's landing to be a sufficient distraction for a massive "what the fuck are we doing fighting amongst ourselves" moment.... previously the night's watch sent a hand of a whyte to get their attention.. that didn't work.. perhaps a giant's head?

Which head? The future of Westeros is at stake.

they killed 2 giants.. cut off one of the giants heads, and send it along with a member of the nights watch to king's landing... have him take like 4 people with him, and have each of those stop off in other cities along the way to recruit have 1 member of the watch escort back each group of recruits from the various cities until the head arrives in king's landing, then have the king issue an official call for men from all 7 kingdoms... so that way they will have troops coming is while the head is still on the road to the capitol...

I thought the same. When that commander said "giants doesn't exist, it's children's tales" I thought "they're dammed". If a watch commander, an old one, doesn't believe in giants, people from King's Landing would never believe either.

awesome... so how did it relate to the books...

absolutely ADORED the ending with Arya, my favorite character, the new version of the theme as well....

we got to see the children of the forest and some wizard looking guy

Tyrion killed his asshole father... on the fucking toilet no less

and varys left with tyrion (to who knows where)

danny's story kind of sucked, and there wasn't really anything huge and epic

I am a little disapoitned that Arya didn't get to have a great moment with brieanne... but brieanne wouldn't have let her go to bravos.. so it ended up betetr the way it is...

Well, this episode was deviating majorly from the book, meanwhile at the same time confirming 3 fan theories. The Brienne/Hound meeting never happened, and if they are going the way I think they are going, they did some pretty good foreshadowing.

Arya did leave the hound, however, it was right after the polliver/tickler battle. Arya and the Hound never got to the Eyrie neither. Most of the characters from Brienne's storyline are not there, they might be next season but not there as of now. Its actually interesting how this played out.

Jon's storyline was very close to the book's however the tension of the battle was taken away and the rescue was not as good as it was in the books.

Tyrions was to perfection. Very few deviations from the book.

Daenerys's storyline was a rather important plot point that they didn't emphasize well. The dragons being locked up and Drogon running away plays a huge part later on. It was a sad scene but they didn't deviate from the storyline too much.

With Bran's storyline they confirmed a fan theory which I am not posting on here because its book 5 stuff. Jojen's death was rather unexpected and they cut out one of the best characters in the books with this storyline. I will begin working on the article for TV Enthusiast ASAP. And a review too.

also... before you get too far in your writing we have to talk about format and such

for starters, articles need to be atleast 1000 words, reviews I believe is 500, we are sharing the word length format with the other enthusiast sites... for reviews we are reviewing seasons or arc.. but not individual episodes... also the reviews serve a bit of a different purpose than a game review would.. they aren't a basis for recommendation but rather a critique of the content and a review of what it all it means... and as such we are avoiding scores (atleast for now) I think the way we will do it is perhaps have a score on SERIES reviews but not season reviews...

we don't yet have anybody proofing for us so be careful on anything you write, though your current permission doesn't allow you to submit posts... only to write them.. so just let me know when you have soemthing finished and I'll submit it

Would love to! I think I will get on to writing articles later today once I am less busy. So three articles, the comparison, the news, and the review. Doesn't seem to hard. Will get on it asap.

One more thing with formatting... There are categories... So instead of selecting new post instead select the type of post and then pick new post from that category... It determines how the stuff is sorted on the site... Your comparison price is fine where it is as post and fair show up the same way... But for the other 2...make sure and use the correct categories

News posts need to be about 150 words... I am going to have to find the formatting video Omar made as that will help you with stuff

@Jacesonnall

But I'll go through your stories before posting then and double check to make sure they are all formatted correctly

A child of the forest! Amazing.

I really like history and the history and tales of the novels and fictions I like, so last month I started reading about the history of westeros and I learned about the children of the forest and said: "amazing creatures, I'd like to see them but it's extinct. Damn".

So, there they are! :D Sheer coincidence!!

I can't believe I need to wait one year to watch next season.

By the way, I don't dislike this show. I like it a lot. I just think the Red Wedding scene was weaksauce, and the Final Destination-like "who's gonna die next" shit isn't doing much for the show - as someone who hasn't read the books and relies only on the exposition given by the TV show, granted.

This video is so funny. :D

I love TV shows intros and it's a shame that nowadays many series doesn't have intros, just a "name" (like Supernatural's and Heroes'). Game of Thrones and HBO series in general have great intros, however I like those old intros where the actors/characters used to be presented. Of course it doesn't work for every show, but I think it's quite charming and sort of a tradition for me.

Law & Order - Intro

CSI keeps this until today

I still think The Wire had the greatest intros.

EDIT: also Twin Peaks opening. This one technically qualifies for what you were saying @Odo, since this show's protagonist is the town of Twin Peaks.

Twin Peaks intro is so calming and yes it's presenting Twin Peaks :)

Talking about the greatest intros, well, I've got a candidate, Miami Vice's. I've never got tired of watching this intro. Those are the best ones, you never skip them.

supernatural makes up for the lack of intros with the way they do "previously on" with "then" and "now" and "the road so far" and the way the finales all use "cary on my wayward son" and the title cards are usually awesome too and reflect the theme of the season I like supernatural the way it is I think it adds to the mood and a full opening would take away from it... but they have had a few openings on that show before

Theory R + L = J

Just sharing. Very interesting.
This theory has been floating around for so long. And the show is straight up taking the guess work out of it. I am afraid of saying any more. But yeah, there are a couple more cool theories out there and also I highly recommend no one reads book 3 yet if you are planning on following the books with the show. They still don't have the biggest plot point on the show oddly enough. Unless they cut it out ;_;

I've decided not to read the books. I'll wait for the season 6 or 7 to start reading them. I think it's the best choice. Until there I'll have forgotten season 1 details so I'll start reading the books and find out things they didn't put on the show.

I tried, but today I bought books 3 and 4 (or parts 1&2 of book 3, however you wanna think of it). I really enjoy the show, but so far I've found I'm enjoying the books more, so spoilers will be the sacrifice D:

I'm finding that everyone is way more of an asshole in the books than they are in the show. It also rubs me the wrong way how every main character is like, 12. I'll probably stop after finishing book 2, I'd rather be shocked by the show than the book

This season has been streamlining a lot of the book content which is both good and bad at the same time. The streamlining affected a lot of storylines negatively such as Dorne, which had a really cool conspiracy plot
queenmaker, a plan to make myrcella queen and marry her to trystane
instead of the 'omg kill the little girl for oberyn' story. It made Dany's and Tyrion's storyline far better though, they skipped a giant convoluted storyline
battle of meereen, it was terrible
. Sansa's storyline had the most fat cut out though, they skipped events that haven't even happened in the books and just skipped giant chunks of littlefingers plan. Brienne's storyline was also trimmed down heavily, considering where she is at the books now and where she is in the show. King's Landing has been pretty faithful to the books, except that Loras storyline. Sad about the Greyjoy's getting cut out, that was one of my favorite plotlines.

Last episode was excellent, best of this season by far. It moved quickly and picked up a lot of slack. There was a huge missed opportunity though, with that old lady. It wasn't last episode where they missed it, but when the old lady said: 'the north remembers sansa', I was honestly expecting this really awesome part from the books. Not saying it though, might still appear somewhere in the Stannis storyline.

The titles for the next episodes:
Hardhome: I expect this to be mainly about Jon Snow. Excited for this episode, since according to some rumors/leaks some crazy stuff happens
The Dance of Dragons: Not going to talk too much about this episode, since literally anything I say will be a spoiler, but it should give some progression to the stagnating Daenerys storyline.
Mother's Mercy: I HATE D&D for using this title. It can mean soo many things, and we know at least one meaning of it, but there are so many other things. Here is hoping we get an awesome season finale.

I'm not enjoying this season so far.

There are so many stories in each episode now, it's like every episode is a sample of character's story. Since episode 8, it got better, but this season is the worst in my opinion.

Alright, pretty old, but I just finished watching a whole bunch of analysis videos on it. Here is the game of thrones season 6 trailer:
Here's the march madness teaser(NEW FOOTAGE)
And here is a 43 minute breakdown: beware though, spoiler warning!!!
For book readers, that trailer is pretty spoilerific. A lot of scenes flash by, so it wasn't too spoiled for non book readers, but this trailer showed a lot of the big events. The funny part, is that going by the trailer, there is so much more to it. Last season was kind of just a set up season, I guess that explains why it wasn't that good, but the Dorne storyline was pretty shite last season. I don't think that Dorne is quite done, but I am confident that the handling will be much better. Like I said, the trailer was pretty fantastic, and confirmed a lot of things that I want to happen
TOWER OF JOY, COLDHANDS, EURON
The trailer kinda promised that it would solve one of the biggest mysteries in the show/book, and it hinted at solving at a big mystery for book readers, but I don't think that it will matter that much to show watchers. The show is pretty much caught up with the books, so for all of those watching the show while reading along with the books, its pretty safe to catch up now.

The trailer did show a lot of location spoilers, and I think its pretty safe to assume that
Yara is going to take over victarion's story
. Plus, there are a lot of things that we know about
Riverlands story, Dorne, massive white walker scene
that were not shown. I am pretty excited to get back to the world of Game of Thrones.

LATE EDIT:And for those worried that the story was stretched too thin last season, with too many characters and too many parallel stories, its all going to begin to knit back together this season.

And to think a lot of this happens on my doorstep! I dont know why the PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland) doesnt stop all this rape and murder! Its getting a bit out of hand folks!

This episode was boring af
I had more fun playing Lost Reavers.
I did enjoy the little Khalmedy, but otherwise meh, George RR is rolling in his grave.
