Forget 2017. We gamers live in the FUTURE! We don't care about the games we're playing now. What really matters is what's coming out.

This is the thread for YOU.

For ladies, lads, mothers and fathers

E3 2017 is coming and I'm starting to list the upcoming 2018 games.

The list is going to be updated here in this first post.
The list mostly has AAA games and other titles that I curate
This year the list includes PS4, NSW and XBO games.
This is the first year that 3DS will not be included unless we're sure that the system will be supported.

FE for NSW

Fire Emblem for NSW is coming. That's going to be the first time the franchise will be playable on a TV since the Wii title. We'll finally be able to play Fire Emblem in glorious HD.

Who knows if we see Ike starring again.

Dynasty Warriors 9

For the first time in the series, the expansive land of China is shown on a single map with the introduction of an open world format for diverse progression through the game.

Iron Harvest

What was the last time we had a good cyber punk game?

This game is some sort of cyber bucolic Europe.

90's Arcade Racer - A Kickstarter story.

- It was a Wii U exclusive back then.
- The developer made £16,039
- There was an estimate delivery date for November 2013. They didn't make it.
- They made a gameplay video in 2015.
- Wii U version seemed to be cancelled, PS4/X1 maybe...
- Nicalis, the publisher behind games like Cave Story, joined the project.
- In 2016, Nicalis tweeted something about the game, with a sugestive Steam hashtag.

Oh man, what a lineup. I think my brother and I are going to play a lot of DBFZ, but I'm still considering getting MHW on PS4.

February looks really promising

Including those 2 extraordinary remakes: Shadow of Colossus and Secret of Mana.

For those who are into it, we have a new Dynasty Warriors.

NSW gets Bayonetta re-release.

Kingdom Come also looks good.

Those games and MHW make a great year start.

March

[NSW] .......... Kirby Star Allies
[PS4] .......... Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom
[PS4,XBO] ...... Far Cry 5

The games for March. The big guys are Far Cry and Ni no Kuni (I thought it had been released in January, btw).

Besides Kirby and all those re-releases, it seems to me that Nintendo is having a dead quarter. Because of that, PS4 is dominating everywhere, including Japan where MHW is the rock star.

I'm kind of on the fence about the Luigi's Mansion remake on 3DS. I mean, N64 remakes on 3DS work really well as Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Star Fox are all amazing... To the point where they're basically the best versions of those games now. But I think GameCube remakes should go to the Switch. How much of an upgrade can Luigi's Mansion on 3DS really be? I love the game and I'm glad to see Nintendo still supporting the 3DS so well, but I might pass on this one.

3DS has a huge userbase and for Nintendo to port a game to it is easy easy, plus I believe they had a lot of 3DS projects going on that had started a few years ago and now are being released. I may be wrong, but this must be the last year for 3DS.

Or not, I feel like I said that before last year.

I attended a panel at SXSW last weekend where Iga talked about Bloodstained. He revealed that cooking is now a feature in the game, and everyone clapped enthusiastically.

To be fair it sounds like a decent feature. In addition to leveling up by killing enemies and using gear to increase your stats, you can also cook new receipes to permanently increase your stats.

April only needs one single game: God of War. The rest is the rest.

Anyway, Yakuza is coming out and this indie game Sinner is the only one looking promising this month in my opinion.

NSW has been dead for new games since XC2 and this month besides Labo, nothing really important.

Excuse me, but April is the month of Labo. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to see Reggie on Oprah, or at least on Ellen.

Excuse me, it's a thread of games I'm curating here. Although Labo is an extraordinary toy, it's still a toy. Curating Labo to my list would be the same as adding something like Wii Fit, which is another example of an extraordinary thing that isn't exactly a core game. It's a core game thread and Nintendo is dead in this department this year, yes.

I was just joking, I knew how you felt about Labo. I don't care about it either, even though I think it'll sell well.

When’s the last time you cared about Nintendo or one of there games?
Me and @EvilTw1n sort of got a bet going, he's on Team 2018 while I can't help but feel it's 2019

And to answer your question, I do want a Switch with Mario and Xeno 2 (although some things about it rub me the wrong way). Keeping my eye on Travis Strikes Again and Octopath Traveler. I heard Kirby is good but I'm more interested in the experimental ones these days i.e. Rainbow Curse, Mass Attack, etc. I'm sure Yoshi will be fun too. Bayonetta 3 is gonna be a must have, although same with Prime 4, I don't think we'll get it this year. And I'm starting to wonder if Pikmin 4 is a thing, considering how Miyamoto said "it's close to completion" around a couple of years ago (Maybe he was talking about Hey Pikmin).

I'm sure there's a few others. I'm just not the type of person to buy a system for one or two games. When I bought the Wii U all the games I looked forward to got delayed for half a year so I was a bit sour on that. I'd rather have a good few already available/games I really want. If Prime 4 is indeed a 2018 title, that's gonna be the "CoV signal" for me to get a Switch. Otherwise, unless there's a big announcement at E3 for Pikmin 4 or something, I may end up waiting until 2019.

Since I'm one of the few people on the forums who doesn't have a Switch, I can't talk about Mario, or Xenoblade, or anything anyone here is playing. Likewise I've mostly been playing PS4/PC games that not many people here play so I feel like in terms of video games, there's little for me to have conversations about so I haven't been posting as much lately. Me being quiet isn't the same as me not caring about Nintendo. I loved Breath of the Wild, but games like Splatoon and Arms don't interest me, so I'm just waiting for Nintendo to release that one big title that I can't resist.

edit: I'll admit I can be pretty down on Ninty sometimes, but I've been recently playing Link to the Past again, and no one does it like Nintendo. As much as I love DOOM, Evil Within and other 3rd parties, I'll always need that Nintendo magic. I just sometimes wonder if Nintendo needs that CoV money money
