Nintendo Teaming Up With Universal Studios To Make a Nintendo Park

The Wolf of TNE Street
KYOTO, Japan & ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts today announced plans to bring the world of Nintendo to life at Universal theme parks – creating spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo’s wildly popular games, characters and worlds.

The agreement brings two icons of entertainment together and represents a significant partnership for Nintendo as it expands the reach and popularity of its characters and intellectual property.

Universal theme parks offer incredibly popular, innovative themed family entertainment experiences based on compelling stories and characters – using powerful storytelling and innovative technology. Nintendo has created remarkable and imaginative worlds filled with captivating stories and beloved characters. Now, for the first time, those stories and characters will be brought to life in entirely new ways – only at Universal theme parks.

The immersive experiences will include major attractions at Universal’s theme parks and will feature Nintendo’s most famous characters and games. More details will be announced in the future, as the Nintendo and Universal creative teams work to create specific concepts.
This was just announced. Seems like this will only apply to Universal Orlando and Universal Japan. Extremely looking forward to it, this was one of the big things on my Nintendo wish list.

White Phoenix of the Crown
So extremely excited for this, and the fact that I live 90 minutes away makes it even better!

(Some of this depends on whether it will be at regular Universal or at Islands of Adventure)

If Universal loses the rights to the Marvel rides they have and they revert to Disney, I could easily see some things there being "transformed" into Nintendo-themed rides. The Hulk ride could easily be manipulated into a Metroid-ish ride where it's like you're traveling in Samus's ship. (Just an idea off the top of my head.) Spider Man could be done into a Mario or Donkey Kong minekart ride of sorts.

The Simpsons ride (formerly the Back to the Future ride) could be modified into a Mario Kart experience. (Especially now with the upside down tracks, this could work really well.)

Not to mention all the original rides and attractions they could create from scratch. Very exciting news, and an excellent partner. I like this idea much better than Nintendo trying to go it on their own with a solely Nintendo theme park.
