Since we don't have much to talk about now, here's some questions:
Right now, who will you main? Will we see any other third party characters? If so, who? What kind of game is this stage based off of? Seriously now

I'm loving the Villager so far, seems like an awesome character. Wii Fit Trainer is hilarious as well, I would love to play as her.
I think Bayonetta will be revealed soon, or the main guy from Wonderful 101. I think Sonic is a sure bet too. I don't know about Snake, all depends on MGS V.

I will main Mega Man for sure. I love how the artists rendered him. I wonder how they will balance him because he seems heavy on the projectiles.

I have to say that i love the guest characters so far.
The game looks immense fun, but the 3DS version is a letdown for me.
I don't understand why the Wii U games looks better from off screen footage.
That's weird...

We haven't seen offscreen yet from the 3DS. I personally love how they made each version unique but the same core characters. For the 3DS more stages will be based on handheld games like Spirit Tracks and Wii U will be based on console games like Skyward Sword. I really love the artstyle of the 3DS version as well. It's like a comic book. I am definitely getting both versions.

I did love the artstyle for the 3DS. Rather, it felt "off" to me during the ND, but I think that was only because I was confused as to whether that was the Wii U version. Now that I've seen pictures of the 3DS version, it looks gorgeous. Too bad the 3D won't do too much for the game, since it takes place on a single plane anyway.

Here's some food for thought:

Analysis from a poster on another forum:1. Look at the mat color2. Look at the rope color3. Look at the corner pad colors
Hint at Little Mac in Smash 4? I think so.

Yeah I got a Borderlands style feel with the 3DS version. It was strange too when I first saw it, but then I saw the fight being displayed on what looked like the top screen of the 3DS, so it went good.

I would like to see FE:A character in SSB4.

The Ferox Arena from Fire Emblem Awakening is in Smash 3DS, so we'll likely see Chrom replace Ike, or maybe we'll get a trio of Marth, Ike, and Chrom.
Not enough Marth here. When he's announced ill be back.
He'll be announced for sure... He's a veteran, I think they'll keep everyone who has played in at least two Smash games.
Also, some more speculation...
Could this be hinting at Tom Nook in Smash in some form? He does have the eye for that letter :>

I thought the same thing ASuch. Maybe Nook will show up to offer everyone lodging during the tournament for the low, low price of 150,000 bells! I doubt he will be in any way playable, but I think he might pop up for some reason.

I'm loving the 3 newcomers! I mostly want to give Villager a spin and would love to main him, but Trainer and Mega Man also look very fun. There's always a chance I'll just continue to main Pikachu since I did in SSB64 and SSBB.

Also, Villager has the ability to pocket certain attacks. I wonder if Villager got the boxing gloves by pocketing one of Little Mac's attacks? I don't remember ever being able to use boxing gloves in Animal Crossing.

I would love to see Gerome maybe become a playable character in SSB. He does look as if he could be a rather interesting character:

Though I would prefer the Gerome with black hair:

RUMOR TIME:
This comes from a NeoGAF post where one user posted some extremely unlikely predictions... and he got 3/6 right. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=62304489&postcount=2996
Who were those 3?
Villager. Mega Man. Those two are impressive enough by themselves, but here's the kicker. This guy also predicted Wii Fit Trainer. Mega Man is a pretty safe choice, and Villager was a bit of a stretch. Many would think that Tom Nook would represent AC, but no, Villager. But then he went on to predict Wii Fit Trainer. Either this guy is the god of predictions, or he knows something. Assuming it's the latter, this is what it means.
We could see his other predictions, Pac-Man, Mii, and Little Mac before the week is over. Little Mac seems like a sure bet since we saw the boxing arena which he hails from. Pac-Man isn't a stretch either because Namco is helping development. Mii is Mii.
So what do you make of this?

I hope they announce Skull Kid.

Skull Kid is not a safe bet unless they announce a Majora's Mask remake which Aonuma said that at least on Wii U, he's done with remakes and Wind Waker will be for experimenting with HD for the next Zelda.

I can still hope. :)

That digging holes gif is freaking hilarious. Thank you, internet.

There's even a KnowYourMeme already up for the Villager: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/creepy-animal-crossing-villager lol

After seeing the direction Sakurai is taking Smash Bros, I think Little Mac, Pac-Man and Mii are likely choices at this point. Villager and Wii Fit Trainer represent two of Nintendo's biggest series right now and Mii fits in with that category, representing Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Party, Wii Fit, and Nintendo Land. All of those appearances should allow Mii to have an interesting move set.
Pac-Man deserves a spot just as much as Mega Man, especially since Namco is helping develop the game. Pac-Man is equally iconic. The only thing holding him back is that he's ugly, but Sakurai and his team have proven to be very creative with their adaptations of characters in Smash Bros.
Little Mac is an obvious choice. He was made relevant again in the Wii generation with the Punch-Out!! revival and he's a born fighter. He just fits perfectly.

Yeah. Little Mac is an easy fit. He'd make a great character.

The names are actually Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U xD Oh God the games are going to be great but those names are... horrible.
Pac-Man would be a cool trophy. Heck maybe one day we'll even have a Pac-Man stage. All those twists and turns in a Pac-Man table would work well as platforms if you turned it on its side. Could have little ghosts moving around like the enemies in New Pork City, you could actually have it the big ball things that let you chase off the ghosts haha!
I'd really like there to be more stages with unique hazards/advantages, I remember in Digimon Rumble Arena 2 (which I freaking loved back in the day) had this stage called Mecha Factory or something. Most of the stage's platforms were moving treadmills and if you weren't careful you'd be pushed (or punched) right into one of the tubes in the side. If you fell in one of those you'd get pushed through the machinery and come out in a can. You could only move slowly and your only attack was to jump and drop down on them so you became a punching bag for the duration xD
I think it'd be really cool to see some kind of Monster Hunter stuff, like an assist trophy Jaggi or something. I mean we got Mega Man from Capcom, Nintendo and MH have a good relationship now, why not?If they wanted to be really
awesome, Cha-Cha or Kayamba as a character would be so cool, but we only just got Mega Man so I don't see that happening.
Number one thing on my list is no clones! If you're going to keep those multiple characters on, have them as skins or just give them more moves that differentiate between them because usually one will get played and the others will get ignored anyway.

They could have done better than that. :-w

I don't want clones either. They need to make every character count.
