I think MH will hit the Switch sometime this holiday season. My bet is September 19th.

Most of the content is pretty much done for this game and most people have had no issues with Switch ports.
This. We've specifically seen comments from Capcom on how easy it is to port games to the Switch. Maybe they were talking about Monster Hunter XX all along.

I think the game could come out by the holidays, but I can see February or March at the latest.

Its a lock for before March. I seriously think a release this year in Japan is very likely, September or October, whatever FE Warriors isnt on. Would love to see it make it over here shortly after, I dont think there's too much localization to do. I feel we might be waiting a bit longer if they decide to bring both 3DS and Switch versions of the game over. It would be a little scummy, but I can totally see only a Switch MHXX being localized.

I am personally hoping for a 3DS/Switch co-release in the US, with cross-platform multiplayer compatibility, (Hopefully with an update to the original Japanese version as well) so that Switch and 3DS players can play together.

If they limit it to the Switch it would cut off a potentially huge portion of those interested in playing it given how few people own a Switch currently compared to the 3DS.

Played for over half an hour... Is there a way to play with pro controller in this demo, i want to try that next time... I hate the camera in volleyball mode and lost calibration like 3 times i think... It can be fun, but motion is just imprecise and inexact...

I want to see how it holds up with traditional controls...

Love the lobby though, and the ability to quickly change fighters and weapons each match...

My go to was Ramen girl with Dragon on my left and boomerang on my right... But the dragon is a little hard to aim right

I also have a little trouble judging depth when i try and get tricky with the boomerang

Also the return delay on the dragon screwed up some throw plans

I played several 1 v 1 and 1 v 1 v 1 games...i didn't know how to change targets though.... Did like 2 tethered team games, those were fun but a little tricky.... And a few volleyball rounds, in which the camera annoyed me

Not sold... But there is some cool stuff....

I bought Disgea 5. So far I am feeling a lot of buyers remorse; this game will take some getting used to.
Disgea is a very overwhelming RPG. There's a lot of things going on during decision-making so it takes a lot of time getting used to, but if you've gotten the time it'd grow on you and you'd enjoy it. If this is your first time, 5 is a terrible point of entry (possibly the worst introduction to the series. It's Fire Emblem on ultra steroids.). It's arguably more complex than the others.

I posted this on IGN and I was wondering what you all thought.

If we want to explore the pavlovian conditioning of what "adulthood" means, then one must also explore why people who lay claim to be "adults" often don't want to associate with albums such as Hybrid Theory and genres such as metalcore or grunge out of fear of looking younger and more "angsty" than they really are without taking the quality of the music into account. If that quote ['adult' as a form of criticism] penned by C.S. Lewis reflects this, one must wonder why it only applies to interactive media.

In George Berkeley's argument against representational materialism, he presents the following we take as fundamentals.

(1) We perceive ordinary objects (houses, mountains, etc.).
(2) We perceive only ideas.

Therefore,

(3) Ordinary objects are ideas.

No matter how you feel about it, material accumulation will always define the idea of one's "manhood."

I love Linkin Park, still love Linkin Park as much as the Cranberries, and will always listen to Linkin Park. Their new stuff are not much to my liking, as they're experimenting in ways of getting popular again, but their old stuff are still awesome to listen to. Protest song be damned, it's a very, very good one and one I keep in all of my playlist regardless.

My thoughts on Samurai Jack ending...

Personally, I feel that its a bit too rushed. All of that hope lost thing, trying to fight back thing got way too short. The same goes for the romance thing till end.

There are also a couple of plotholes here as well. How is the Scotsman aging compared to Jack? How is it that after all these years, Jack hasn't aged?

And then there's the Aku slay thing. How is Jack at the end able to kill off Aku like that in the end by simply slicing him off when that's the same thing he's been doing to him time to time?

Then there's Jack's dad and mom issue here..in the time that Jack was to face Aku the first time, they were like this

But yeah...I guess I can understand why they ended it so fast since they didn't think of the ending itself to begin with so I guess I can be fine with it.
Yeah, it was rushed. Everyone watching felt that way. I've heard that there were some talks about having the final episode be feature length, but I guess it wasn't in the cards. The ending was bittersweet in both the literal and figurative sense.

ARMS soundtrack is very relaxing (and sometimes motivating) to listen to. It's funny because it's looped so quickly and you don't tire from it.

What's even stranger is that I don't have any sort of interest in Monster Hunter, as I just couldn't get myself into enjoying it, but that free Kirby 3DS game made me understand how appealing it may be. I'm willing to give Monsuta Hunta a second chance and buy a version of it.

Having recovered from a flu, it felt horrible. I've spent so much time being sick-free it felt like the world was gonna end when I had gotten sick for the past four days. Makes me wonder if I should get sick more often to get used to the discomfort.
______________

I must admit, Shovel Knight takes it for my favourite game for the 3DS. It's the most positive experience I've had, from the extremely generous DLC to the aesthetics, music and gameplay. It's the best money I've spent on a game and wouldn't mind spending more on it. Bless those devs who made such a thing.

The mechanics are certainly overwhelming, but it is the aesthetic style of the game that I find the most jarring. I get the feeling that 90% of this game is tounge and cheek humor, but I am having a hard time getting invested with the story or any of the characters so far. It is my least favorite aspects of anime cranked up to 11.

Well, you're definitely not gonna like it, at all. The entire series is based on corn. If it's any help, it eventually gets serious as the plot goes along, but it'd take a while to get there.

I can take corney, but I need to get to the point in the game where I get some semblance of a plot; then again, I am the kind of guy who watches porn for the plot.

Just forget the story advance far enough to open the item world and then hack the ever loving shit out of the game by making items that break the whole game wide open.... That is how you play disgaea

Is it possible for snakes to climb on walls?

The reason I'm asking this is because I'm playing Snake Pass and for some odd reason, Noodle is able to climb on walls on some occasions...I'm not sure if this is a bug or if this is intentional for the design.

Speaking of which, I guess I can say my first impressions of the game after completing three levels of it so far.

Playing this game with an Xbox One Controller, I honestly for the life of me cannot see people's complaints about the controls because this game to me controls fine and while it took some time to get used to its controls ( I have collected everything in all of those levels btw so yeah it did take some time.) I soon got the hang over it. If you ask me, this game's control scheme is far better than Uprising's.

So far I'm liking the game as its by far the most innovative platform game out there. I like the character Noodle so far and does what a typical platform character is, being silent and charming.

I think the main issue that people think which includes me is the rather questionable physics....many times, the physics in this game isn't under your favour and as a result, you can get screwed even if you shouldn't. For example, if Noodle is hanging his body in equal half of his body, he shouldn't fall but he does in many occasions fall. Even the grip doesn't help you as it should atleast from what I've played so far.

Now normally, cameras haven't been such a problem to me and I've always dealt with problematic cameras. But in this game, pacing the camera for solving levels and getting goodies makes the camera somewhat frustrating to deal with. I guess by time, I can deal with it but for now, its a bit annoying.

As for music, so far only one song has been playing but I like the beat of it.

Those are my thoughts so far in the game...

Looks like JPN is getting a special MHXX edition Switch console. It's a standard gray console w/ a designed dock. Looks decent, but has me thinking about all of the different types of designs they can put on the dock. They better go all out w/ a special Zelda edition console to make up for not having one on launch and the WW HD Wii U console being lackluster. Which sucks because the Zelda 3DS' have been straight cash homie. Oh and I saw this on the JPN news app.

Yeah I think either Fried or Koenig (yeah I think it was KO) who posted the screenshot of the console in the MHG thread. Looks sweet and yeah there is a ton of stuff they can do decor wise.

It would have been interesting if Nintendo had designed the switch with backplates and similar decals like the new 3DS (Small). The potential for customization would have been much higher that way, and Nintendo as well as other 3rd parties could capitalize on the suckers (most likely us) willing to buy them all.

I am hoping some 3rd parties make affordable docks because $90 for a dock is almost as big a rip off as ultra street fighter 2
Wait what!?! SFII is bad to the bone and well
Worth the 40 bucks IMO. For the matches I played with @Goodtwin and @Juegos those alone made it well worth the money, and I know there are plenty of matches to come.

The gameplay is super solid, the graphics look great, the 1:1 friends online so far has been nigh flawless, and it's got a great roaster with all fighters being very varied. I'm not even close to starved for games and this was a super easy purchase.

I always find out about things slightly too late. Yesterday, there was a retro gaming expo in the convention centre literally across the street from my apartment. Looked pretty cool, they had some neat stuff there, including the Nintendo Playstation prototype, but alas, I was too busy visiting museums and whatnot.

Sweet I hope it means continued with more support. I played now with @Aki for an hour or so earlier and it was almost 1:1 totally awesome.

And I don't have access to those consoles, and I haven't played SF in near 20 years. I feel like I already got my money's worth.

You may feel that way, but capcom screwed you... It is like if you got a great car at an okay price and then found out your neighbor got the same car for less than half what you paid from the same dealer because he was wearing a different sports team jersey than you

You may feel like Capcom screwed me, and it may look like that. But from my prespective I paid a fair price for a great game I didn't have access to other wise.

You can stop now, we all know how you feel:mthumb:

Isn't it 60$ at the Nintendo world store?

So I watched The Iron Giant and its nice. I like its art and especially the character design of Kent Marshly.

So interms of animation, Story and production, who does it better? Disney, Dreamworks or Warner Bros?

Heyooo, i'm back!

ARMS was good, although not being able to combine the control schemes bummed me out a bit. I was planning on building a virtua-on joystick setup out of a pair of joycons, but needed to be able to fire punches with a button instead of a thrust. Since no button throws a punch in motion control mode, i had nothing to hook my trigger up to. :/

Woulda been so cool!

Oh, something which is going forward atm is this:

I've put the guts of a Samsung Gear VR controller inside a nerf pistol, and the result is surprisingly close to being a modern day GunCon! It feels very, very similar.

Trigger shoots, black button is back button, pulling back the slide is the home button (it's spring loaded), and the left thumb controls the touchpad where the GunCon's side button would be.

Just waiting for the epoxy to dry to set the side panels, then it'll take a coat of black paint and it'll be ready to go!

The feeling of being screwed over is subjective. Players who've been playing SFII since the beginning and own / owned the carts and then the digital versions probably won't feel like it's worth the price tag. However, someone who has never played the game before may see it as being worth it. Once you break it down and get over the fact that it's almost a 30 year old game, there's a lot in there. Just a quick rundown; there's 6 game modes, a gallery, a custom color editor for each character, ability to mix and match old / new graphics and sound, 19 characters and 16 stages. Personally, I do feel like it might be $10 overpriced, but this pricing precedent has already been set. None of the cart revisions on SNES were ever cheaper despite being even less enhanced than this port. Same thing with multiple capcom releases on GBA. Nintendo as well. Nintendo sold roms of the og LoZ for GBA for $30 as part of that Classic Series. The Super Mario Bros. ports also launched for $40 on GBA. My only complaint about the game are the controls. I'm still struggling w/ the controls and don't feel like any of the controllers are optimal for this game. The Pro Controller is the best, but I still would like either a proper fight pad or fight stick because I'm convinced that the controls are unresponsive. Regardless of how you feel about the new game modes or the price, you can't argue against the core game and gameplay. A good game is a good game.

I'm annoyed that the NeoGeo releases on the Switch are so bare-bones, again. While the emulation on Nintendo consoles tends to be pretty spot-on, the consistent lack of online play is grating when it's so easily achievable elsewhere (even if the PSN version is a bit crap in that regard).

So while i do buy these games (i have all the good wii NeoGeo games, the samsho anthology etc), i always have to go to fightcade for online.

Fightcade's great though, especially if you want the more obscure stuff (cadillacs and dinosaurs!).

@Aki try playing USF2 in training mode, so you can compare how it feels there to how it feels online. It's night and day imo. When the connection is good, the controls are very responsive, but that's almost never.

That said, I do wish I could use a fightstick, mostly so I could have the 6 button layout rather than having to use shoulder buttons.

I would love it if MHXX came out in America/Europe in September, although a simultaneous release in August would be even better and make me blow my load right now given my Monster Hunter addiction right now.

Just watched an exploit video from game explain that shows you how to play the arms test fire (just the tutorial part) whenever

Just go to your settings

Then to your Internet connection settings

Then enable a proxy

Just out in a fake address (you can use 1.1.1.1)

Then open the test punch and it will work for 2 minutes then boot you... But even when it boots you, you can just jump back in without changing the settings again

To get back online with your system just turn off the proxy

I never got to play any of the other test punches.... I'll do this to try the pro controller

Those who want a new Advance Wars game...got some news for ya!

http://gonintendo.com/stories/28133...ted-in-creating-a-new-a?page=1#comment-141000

I don't understand why the devs are hesitating to make it if they want to considering that Advance Wars is nearly dormant as the other IPs out there...
Yes, pls!

But wait:

"Personally, I'd love to do Advance Wars, but since it's harder to create relationships between its characters compared to Fire Emblem, I don't have a clear idea of what kind of setting it could have."

Relationship? Why?

Why do they want relationships?

Intelligent Systems now only think about waifus and free-service relationships?

After FE Awakening, they should've changed their name to Relationship Systems.
