Been listening to the new Killers album over the past few months. Being my favourite band I love it, and it's probably better than their last one which is great.
My choice here is probably a little mainstream lol. I've also been listening to Big Talk's new album, which is basically the Killers' Drummers' Side Project haha

I haven't really got space on my iPod, so I haven't listened to too much new stuff lately.

I rarely just listen to music anymore.... and I really don't check out new music at all... the closest thing to new music for me is watching youtube videos of like metal covers of the game of thrones theme, or the autotuned 5 guys review lol.... as for the older music I listen to in heavy rotation

allot of ken andrews stuff like failure and year of the rabbit

I also listen to allot of Meshuggah

and later era emperor

and then allot of mike patton stuff like faith no more (usually king for a day) and mr. bungle (usually california)

here is an old amv I did for retrovertigo using serial experiments lain

I've recently discovered Joe Walsh, and GAWD DAYUM!! How could I have missed him!! Life's been good is probably my favorite song by him. soooooooo good

The blunder from down under
I never get tired of The White Stripes (or anything Jack White does, really). Blues and Rock are a match made in heaven. :)

If I had a Wii U right now I'd turn on the Rock/German music channel and play Monster Hunter on my gamepad. Right now Im listening to Dragon Ash and Back On (Chain& Fly Away)

Right now, Franz ferdinand, Frank Sinatra, artic monkeys, garbage, the music of the remakes of evangelion, some David getta...

I didn't know the former Archduke of Austria made music too :p

I haven't kept up with this thread, seems like there're lots of good music up there.
Right now I'm listening to the new Daft Punk album for the first time. I'd heard a LOT of bad things about it, but I'm loving the hell out of it about 40 minutes in. I can't understand the hate so far. It's just such positive, upbeat, and emotive music. It may not all be "dance" music like they hyped it up to be, but it's warming me up just like Discovery did. I think the "Alive 2014" tour (if there's one) will be really amazing, like nothing else.

I Am Not a Human Being II by Lil Wayne
I thought you didn't like that album.

I've been listening to a lot of rap myself too. But I've also been listening to metal and classic rock too.

And just as a parody of modern suburbian teen friendly rap...

These guys formed in 2004, believe it or not. I heard the following song in Spec Ops: The Line.

This is the song I played while shaving.

Industrial, experimental hip hop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPtPo8Sa3NE&list=FLtWVYVnyUGATEr1rKRrkVzQ&index=6Their 2nd studio album is their best, and their third album, which has a picture of a dick that a member took in the bathroom, is their worst.

I was listening to Ishkur's Electronic Music Guide last night. I don't know how I ended up there, but I probably spent about 4 hours just checking all that stuff out, it's fascinating. So many bad electronic music genres, among the few great ones that have stood the test of time.

But then this (Spotify Playlists):

Hate to admit it, but I actually discovered their music from the MGS 5-reveal trailer. But I did start listening to their other songs as a result. Their music is anything but garbage, know what I'm saying? Guess they were just trying to be ironic or something, I dunno.

What I'm listening to? Neil Young, Depache Mode, Marc Ribot, Frederic Chopin, and some good ol' Xenogears music by Yasunori Mitsuda.
Oh no haha, I actually said "Garbage" in that I was listening to garbage. Pretty much a failed joke.
I couldn't tell some that what they were listening to was garbage knowing that my opinion is vastly subjective lol.

I actually thought you were listening to Garbage, the band.
I don't know anything about them beyond what I saw on MTV years and years ago, but they seem to still have a solid fanbase somewhere out there.
EDit: Oh wait, that's what BSG thought as well. Well there you go, they definitely have a fanbase out there.
Augie's great municipal band and end credits.

So many good vibes come from this song. Pretty much why I've got an entire playlist dedicated to Star Wars.
I came across a band called Halou just now on Rdio. Really good stuff... excellent for chilling at work! I'll be soaking this in for awhile. It reminds me of Hooverphonic (and a maybe bit of Sneakerpimps).

One of my friend was a huge Bone Thugs n Harmony fan back in the day.

So he sent me some videos at work.

I love that one : http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pVW5oe7-5hc

As one of my aussie pal from London would say : "proper" !!!

Old school Bone Thugs is one of my favorites. I've Cubes early solo work holds the top spot for me as rap, with Tupac running a close close 2nd. Then some Deep South underground rap I won't trouble y'all with.

I'm listening right now to ocremix's Final Fantasy VI album

I want to cry tears of joy right now, it's stunning

Even my henchmen think I'm crazy.
If you bang your head hard enough to this, it'll get "Voodoo" out of your head.

Anywho, I thought of this thread this weekend, because The World Is Not Enough was on TV, and the theme song is by...Garbage. Not a band you'd think of connecting with a Bond movie, but yep, they did it.

I've been on a U2 (who I used to not like at all) bend lately. I downloaded Zooropa and immediately felt old. I remember when that album came out...20 freaking years ago.

christians wont like it... but the only new thing I have been actively listening to is the faceless.... really got into their album "autotheist" which is such an eclectic mix... it'll start off as death metal, then go into oingo boingo, then a dillinger escape plan breakdown and BOOM saxaphone solo.. WTF

absolutely loving it

there is even a very metroid sounding part in this song
